I am an Economist at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and affiliated researcher at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. I earned a PhD in Economics jointly from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2019. I also worked as consultant for UN-ECLAC, the OECD and the Bank of Italy.
My primary fields are firm dynamics and economics of innovation, with a focus on young innovative firms and the evaluation of public policies targeting them.
I am member of the Editorial Review Board of Small Business Economics

My job market paper, “The Causal Effects of R&D Grants: Evidence from a Regression Discontinuity”, has been published in The Review of Economics and Statistics. The paper was presented at the NBER Summer Institute and featured in Voxeu, Lavoce, IlSole24Ore and Matt Clancy’s New Things Under the Sun.
